As marketers, we have two customers:

  1. The consumer
  2. The client/company we are working for.

Therefore, the solutions we create serve two masters and each master has a different objective.

The consumer’s objective is to find a product that fits their needs. Does this solve my problem? Does it come in multiple colors? How fast does it perform?

The client/company’s objective is to develop a solution that aligns with business objectives. Does this solution accelerate the attainment of business objectives? Does this solution support corporate values?

Consumers are focused on how the product serves them. Client’s are focused on how the product supports critical business initiatives.

Product fit.

Business fit.

Two masters.

One solution.
